Brent Holmeshaw Excellent follow-up to last year's album. This time with more instrumental back-up, but still retaining the raw sound that blues vocals should have. Great song choices too. Favorite track: St. James Infirmary Blues.
Bootleg Slim

about

This album was recorded on Friday 15th April 2016 by Bill Howard and Duff Thompson in their vans. Bill's van housed the Sansui SD-5000 stereo reel to reel recorder from 1972, which he'd borrowed from Max Bien-Kahn, and Duff's van was used as the live room. This record was made using just two microphones, the songs are live takes recorded in four hours while the vans were parked in Jonathan Henley and Logan Braggs' driveway in The Holy Cross, Lower 9th Ward, New Orleans, Louisiana.

about

Joe Strouzer England, UK

Joe Strouzer sings songs from his travels from Newcastle to New Orleans and a hell of a lot of places in between. His driving resonator guitar is coupled with true harmonica voodoo and biting songwriting of modern trouble, heartpains, moonlit trysts, drinking and devilment, peppered with a rich history of blues. ... more
